The studios place the quality of daylight at the top of the agenda. The rooflight is carefully configured to tame the glare of direct sunlight, but does not rob the light of its colour, as would a North-facing studio.

The limewashed interior then adds another characteristic, enlivening the variations in natural light in just the same way as candle-light would if compared to a tungsten bulb.
