The Barguillere Valley extends Westwards from Foix. It is a geographically well-defined valley about twelve kilometres long and six kilometres wide, rising up to a ridge to the South at an altitude of 1600m and closed at its Western end. Historically it was part of the Comte de Foix and each of the villages has a Romanesque church giving evidence of the age of the settlements. Toulouse is the nearest major airport (a 75 minute drive) and Barcelona (five hours away) also has a direct connection to the nearest railway station at Foix, ten kilometres away. |
