Most adaptations to French properties would require permission known as a Permis de Construire. Sometimes, only a Declaration de Travaux is required (such as changing a window) and can be dealt with by filling in a form from the Mairie and submitting a photograph with a sketch. Where substantial work is being undertaken, an application for a Permis de Construire would involve a set of drawings which would normally be a prelude to the information required for instructing builders. Such a set of drawings require the building to be measured and modifications worked out with the building owner. Please contact Peter Ayley if you would like him to visit a building and give you technical or architectural advice. |
